It's Capello again
Fleet Street must have been very hungover after England's 4-1 defeat to Germany on Sunday to produce the string of front pages that hit the stands this morning.
The tabloids lead with Capello and his team's misery--or lack of it as the Mirror splashes with players smiling just hours after the game. The Sun facetiously plays on the sunny weather marred by a 'depression over Heathrow' as the team return while the Metro has its own slant telling of the humility in England having their pants nicked as they left their South African hotel.
For papers so bent on success in British sport, it seems odd that the tabloids ignore Andy Murray's Wimbledon win yesterday. Only the Times and Telegraph show the tennis star (or his girlfriend) on their fronts.
Serious front page story of the day award goes to the Guardian's Polly Curtis for her piece on diplomatic immunity in the UK allowing foreign staff to get away with some very serious crimes. Best front page today? It's not saying much but the Independent.
